MRHWS OP enthusiast Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 329 Orange Park, FL	I posted some pics of my survivor back in November after a light clean up. These are current. On it's way to shop tomorrow for new paint, stripe and vinyl top. Body wise, all I have used to date is Nu-Finish and spray detailer. Main reason for repaint is dented passenger front fender(previous owner vs mailbox) and loads of surface scratches from what appears to be a dry rag wipe down. Stripe has several nicks and chips along the edges. Vinyl top is decent, but has dry spots that won't go away. 1973 Charger SE 1974 Charger Rallye 440 Aztec 2008 Charger SRT8

Your money can be spend in better places, like front end other places but the last place would be paint for that car. For the absolute best powder coating go to J.I.T powder coating, contact infomation is in my personal profile..

Right now the paint is a little faded, the chrome on the bumpers is worn and all the other components are showing their age. BUT, it's a survivor...it's supposed to look like that. Once it has fresh paint, the bumpers are still going to look worn and all the other components are still going to show their age. It's going to look like a half a$$ed restoration with just new paint. If it gets painted, your going to have to redo everything else so it looks as good as the paint.

Tracking wheel opening trim now, got maybe 1 good piece out of the 4. All new Metro seals and bumper brackets have been powder coated. New headliner after paint, one in car is not original and a poor install. Still need lower door panels and an original dash pad. 1973 Charger SE 1974 Charger Rallye 440 Aztec 2008 Charger SRT8

Looks great to my eyes, but Eddie says paint was a little heavy on the metallic and has some tiger stripes showing on the hood and trunk. I couldn't see them. Respray done and waiting for cut and buff From this past weekend.... car buffed and waiting for the windshield to be put back and the stripes Windshield in and stripes going on. Crappy cell phone pics here. Getting ready for short cruise home. Temporary install of rear bumper for brake lights. Squeezed in next to my '73. Now to put it back together so I can drive it safely across town to get the vinyl top installed. I know a lot of people tried to convince you to keep the original paint but they don't have to hear the critics tell you that the car looks great but the paint is old. Better you should do what you want and enjoy what you have than live up to someone elses take on the car.

Detailed the radiator support and front panels, put all of the bumper brackets together and installed the bumper. A fun job when working alone. Installed the a/c condensor, but waiting on the top brackets and dryer brackets from the powder coater. Installed the door handles, locks, side marker lights and mirrors and the nos wheel opening trim I picked up a few weeks ago. Waiting on a call to get the vinyl top and headliner installed, hopefully this week. Still have loads of paint shop mess to clean up. 1973 Charger SE 1974 Charger Rallye 440 Aztec 2008 Charger SRT8
