Gentlemen,
I am currently doing the Magnum Head Conversion on my 318 New Yorker.
I have found out that the part number listed as the Magnum Conversion Pushrods is now NS1.
Meaning MaMopar is no longer producing them.
Also, Crane (and therefore Summit) are no longer making a 7.625" pushrod either.

What does this all mean-
Basically, your going to either have to make them yourself or have them made for you.
I don't trust 'adjustable' pushrods either, so I don't consider them an option.

I have on order one of the last 3 sets in the country. Meaning there are only 2 sets left.
This doesn't mean they are available, only that there are only 2 sets left.
I've been waiting a couple of weeks now....

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
I'll be posting up something on the conversion when I get it done.

CC.

BTW- this guy is getting the 2 sets in-

That's correct, they've been discontinued for a year.

Many people have had problems anyway with the MP conversion pushrods. They tended to be too short and cause noisy valve train. Best is to get a hold of an adjustable push rod and measure what your engine needs, then buy the right length from Summit or elsewhere.

I'm running the MP conversion rods on mine. My Mag heads were shaved .020" and the rockers are still noisy, but not horrible. Have not bent anything yet.

a lot of people through the years have actually found the conversion pushrods to be a little short, depending on factors (original deck height, head gasket thickness, cam base circle, etc)....

my guess is a combination of the magnum engine spec for deck height is 9.56", while the LA's is 9.60", IIRC, coupled with standard fel-pros head gaskets in the rebuilding kits are .054" compressed vs. ~.025-04" for OEM head gaskets originally installed.

some other options would be these:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TFS-21407650/
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-1457650/

a pushrod length checker would be the best bet to figure out exactly what length you could go with.

for my roller cam motor, I was able to reuse the stock magnum pushrods, even with my reduced base circle (reground) cam. I had to use the roller lifters from a magnum cam, as my '86 lifters do not have provisions for pushrod oiling.
