This stupid car is starting to get in the habit of doing somethign in the tranny that keeps you from going over 55 MPH. It is like it gets stuck in D2 or something. Feels underpowered, won't shift automatically or with shifter. No idea WTH it is doing. Usually have to stop, turn it off then on and it will behave. I did notice once that I caused it by starting it and taking off too fast. Anyone?

Get in car and close door.
Turn key on and off three times ending in the on position this will cause the odometer to show codes stored this may give you a clue as to what is happening.

That works in my Intrepid, but did not work in the 300. Will try again.

Didn't think those cars threw codes like the old ones? Sounds like the computer is going into limp mode, weak and 2nd gear.
