I know this may sound a little naive but I do not know how all these fittings work together.

I am trying to go with a 90' AN to a braided hose. This is this the right part?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...RK%3AMEWAX%3AIT

Does this have a clamped end for the braided hose?

Thanks,

Craig

that will go on the end of a -6(3/8) braided hose then 90* to hook to a -6 male fitting

that is not a screw clamp fake one

Be aware that there are different types of braided hose and the fittings are specific to one type.

this is the braided line I have. Should this adapter work with this line?

looks like the right hose

the end will screw onto the hose, then the 90* part will stick down in the rubber hose and thred down to the nut on the hose, then the nut screws onto the 90* and clamps the hose tight

then the fitting is on the hose, then you screw the other end of it onto a male fitting and it should swivel to get the alinement of the hose you want then tighten it down

wraping it with tape on the ends while cutting in the middle of the tape help to keep it from fraying the braid wire

there was a vid clip some one posted on how to cut it with a cold chizle and hammer with 2-3 wacks that was a nice trick

I use a cut off tool and blow the line out after I am done cutting

might want some gloves by the time you plumb the next car

what John said..some hose is for fake clamps and some are for the -AN fittings

I cant tell by the pic for sure what hose it is though

That's the way I do it. Sliding the braided part in without ruffling the braid ends takes some practice though.

I was going to do a lot of fittings years ago so i bought the vise jaws that you slide into the vise then they grip the AN part as you screw the other part into it to attach the hose, I bought the AN wrenches then too - if you are only doing one no need though. Pay attention to the drop of oil before threading the part in, and to not tightening one against the other.
