I was wondering how much clearance you should have betwen the oil pan and the centerlink on a 70 Barracuda with a 440? Is there a difference with the cross member 440/HEMI vs NON 440/HEMI cross member move the engine higher or shift it some way? Is there a center link/pitman arm diffrence between a base model and the Performace BB versions? My car is a clone and I am currently running solid mounts and is a manual transmission.

Thanks

There is'nt much clearance between the pan and the drag link...Mabe around an inch...No difference in components between the pitman arm or idler other than the TA and AAR fast ratio pieces which don't apply for your question....Are you having trouble ???

Yes - it has always been a close fit - I am installing a tremec and the clearance is gone - I have to look at my drive train angle and it looks like cut some sheet metal to get it to fit.

There's a bunch of different avenues you could take besides the obvious ..I've seen pics of where guys have reworked the oil pan at the drag link area to gain clearance but I'm not sure what the circumstances were for the need...Also, idealy the drag link should sit level in relationship to the vehicle...This is accomplished by shimming the idler up or down with washers between the mounting ears...Some aftermarket idle arm kits contain these washers...That might be something to check on also depending on where yours is at now...
