I am running Phoenix 14x32(3074)Last week ist time out this year ran new best 9.67 and 9.68 at 139.But my 60 ft was only 1.37,My half track et is was only 6.19 but speed 112. I figure i am a tenth off on et and should 60 around 1.33. Car is ladder bar 3000lbs and est 700 hp.Trying to get in the 50s to run c/gas. I am obviously losing a bunch of et down low. What tire works for you guys, thinking of trying the m/t radials.

Hey, I think your doing Darn great

Your MPH is inline with your ET. Your second half 27 MPH pickup is inline

IMO you dont have a Bunch of ET to pick up with better 60 ft.s But there is still some ET on the table. Your right IMO, your 60,s should be closer to a 1.33 or 1.34. Hey, your not that far off from having a perfect inline run IMO with that 1.37

As far as tire choice, I like MTs myself. But others ET the same and better with the Phoenixs or Goodyears. Others the MT,s.

My question would be with a 3000# combo do you really need such a big wide tire. I think at 3000# you could use less, but you absolutley dont want to jeaperdize hook in margiinal conditions.

This was the first race of the year at this track due to rain,so maybe that has something to do with it.My tune up may be off (too rich down low)this Friday i will do some testing. I just rotated the tires and treated them and i am adding 60 pounds to the rear. The reason i think i am losing et is the 1/8 mile et should be areound 6.12 for am 9.67. I have got plenty of speed and a conservative tune up but i want it to hook consistantly or i will be a duck out of water.

Well, its a446 rb,bulldog heads 338 in @.600,14.7/1. 690/670 roller,2/1/8 hedders,53%/47weight at 3050. 4.56 gear 5000 stall ,off transbrake, these runs were leave at 3700,shift at 6500. trap rpm is 6500 at 138.Rons injection on methanol.I am not lacking for power,i am spinning into second gear.Car actually transfers weight and initial move is very good but then losses traction. The same chassis went 1.32 with only 550 hp. Shocks are new double adj.The suspension works better at 4200 leave and more et at 6800 shift but i want to solve the launch issue first.

Actually ,i bought this engine from a buddy that quit racing. The heads were ported by Hughes their stage 3 i think. They claim 348 @>700 but i would guess more like 325 max. Still plenty of power for what i want to do.I talked to a Goodyear engineer and he suggested their d1823, 31.5 14.5 4a compound.Hope to run tomorrow.

i made several test hits and fortunately a couple of well known chassis builders watched the car and helped with shock adj. and tire pressure.Went 1.37 ,1.36 and 1,35 60 ,9.74 best.My incrementals from 330 on are very good(330 to 660in 2.17and 660 to 1000 in 1.90 but i am .14 slow from 60 to 330.There consensus is get new tires with a softer compound and the converter is too tight. So i will order tires tomorrow and hit the national ope at sacramento in a couple of weeks.
