I will assume you have a electric fan also... so I
would hook them up to 2 separate switches so you can
run them each on their own... wire them both with a
relay each so the switch is just to trigger the relay...
as to the alt and its output, you need a amp gauge
to show the max of the alt when you full field it
(most VOM cant handle the amps)

The stock harness wont take the added amps... you
need to run a separate wire from the alt to the
battery(you can run a relay on the alt wire if you
want to have it shut it off so it isnt hot all the time)
Add up all the amps that everything will draw and
add 15% to it and thats what you need for a alt
If you put the relays near the item/draw you wont
get the line drop then you run a small wire to the
relay from the switch

This car has a dual field alt on it and I think that the field wires run to the voltage regulator on the firewall so there is 2 alt wires.I am not the best on this electrical stuff can you explain a little more? Thanks P.

You need to ground one of the field wires... alot
of times I'll put a wire in the regulator connector
(out board pin) and plug the connector back on then
ground the wire... that will full field the alt
