Currently my son works at a store which sells Dupont paints. I have media blasted my project and have replaced several panels. I am currently trying to decide if I should buy VariPrime and then a 2K primer/filler and later a sealer or buy the Direct to Metal type primer which can also be used as a none sanding sealer. I beleive the self etching and then primer step might have a better corrosion protection; however I am worried about a few areas which I did not get all the way to bare steel and some panels with the E-coating. I believe the Dupont DTM might provide better overall coverage. Any suggestions?

If I remember correctly, the self etching primer should'nt be used after the bare metal has been treated with a rust remover/etch{which you did,right ??}So save your money....The DTM 2K should be fine if you've already used the OSPHO or equilivent metal prep...Just make sure you have the metal and other surfaces properly sanded for the adhesion....

Yes long ago I used OSPHO and again recently as I began cleaning and final touch up items before getting the shell in primer I sprayed a diluted OSPHO mix. After that I lightly sanded everything and cleaned several times with wax and grease remover. Over the weekend I actually bought the VariPrime and Activator; however I had second thoughts and exchanged it for the DTM epoxy primer/sealer. I am going to be spraying Vitamin C very soon!
