Need some help. A coworker of mine just picked up a Sebring convertible, and the top does not go up. I checked, and it is getting power to the relay under the rear seat. I bypassed the pump, and it runs, just didn't try it ong enough to make the top go up. Dealer told him they do not make the relay's any more... Is it possible it could be something else I'm not thinking of? Checked all fuses, and no problems.

Jeff

Have you tried a parts store for the relay?

when you say bypass pump do you mean put power to it directly?if so even if it ran a bad one heats up fast and won't work under a load.check for 12v and ground at pump connector while operating switch.this will determine elect or hyd problem.my sebring had a bad pump.

Yes I put power to it directly. No power to the pump with the key on, running the switch. I have power to the relay, no nothing works. And no I cannot find a aftermarket relay either.
