I don't think any diff. it was just diff setup made due the location change of some stuff into engine bay.
The change allowed to fit the steering pump deeper into engine bay, then on smogger engines fit the air pump over this.
also not more belt iddler pulleys at Water pump being the steering pump works like the belt iddler
but talking about OUTLET SIDE ? I don't think any advantage or disadvantage

pass side outlet on trucks driver side outlet on cars thats the way I see most of them do they make an alum one with passide outlet? does it change the t-cover and timeing marks like on a eairly SB and later SB? I would use one on my truck if they did
