Andy , is it safe to assume that you at least cleaned up the ports to match a gasket?
I just had a set of those manifolds you used and plopped the gaskets that come in the standard fel pro gasket set on them, 452 heads ported by Dwayne Porter, good thing I did because the end ports on the manifold were close to an 1/4 inch narrower than the gasket which was the size of the exh port opening on the heads ...

Any reason you want to run those expensive heads then use mani's? If you want an aluminum head and still want to use mani's you might be better off w/ the stealths. What else is going to be done to the motor?
What's the difference, other than price, between the RPM and the stealth ? they flow the same .
The bigger question is WHY do you have such a PROBLEM with someone wanting to run stock manifolds? It's NOT your engine, why do you care?
In case you haven't figured it out yet not everyone needs to wring every last tenth of a HP out of a specific combination. It's just one more person that you can put on the trailer with their OBVIOUSLY INFERIOR combination.

just wondering, some people seem to be sold on Eddy heads to used on anything. Some believe they are cheaper than say having their old iron heads re-worked and want to plop them on a totally stock 383. Just wondering what the need was, that's all.

They are definitely cheaper than having your old iron heads rebuilt if you include having them ported so they flow what an eddy or a stealth flows .
yeah but my point is why do you need that flow if you are building a stock 383 or 440? a standard valve job and some clean up would be fine. That's not going to cost $1500.

Point taken but why are you assuming it's a stock rebuild , is it because he said 383 ?

yeah that's why I asked him what the build was. If he's building something a little sneaky then yeah get the E-heads.
