I'm getting some holes in my inner fender plugged. I missed them the first time through the body shop. I'm trying to figure out which holes are factory and which ones are not. I think I have the P/S figured out, but I'm puzzled by one up close to the windshield washer bottle. I've circled the ones that definately need to be pluggled.
70 T/A with a 01 Apr 70 SPD

Close up - I'm talking about the larger one in this pic. Should it be there? What is it's function?

That same hole is on my early-build 71 R/T (with a Sep 70 SPD) but is not on my 71 340 Challenger (with a May 71 SPD).

Hey Bruce,
Passenger side: The 5 holes you have circled in your first photo (passenger side) are NOT present on my car. Oct 69, 318 3 spd Challenger. The rest are present.
Driver side: All the holes shown in your driver side photo are present on my car and everything seems to match.
Hope that helps. Joe

I think you've got it figured out. Looking good!

Neither of those cars will be an exact match to your 70 T/A. By that time there had been minor revisions in the sheetmetal stamping. Most noticable would be the different contour where the gas vapor line mounts to the inner fender. Also some of the dimples were relocated/deleted.

Does anyone else have the hole circled in this pic, and if so, what it's purpose? It looks like 70RT27N has the same thing. Mine is dimpled from the outside too.
That hole IS CORRECT - you may find your car uses the later (meaning standard for 1971) front firewall brake line if not then the inner fender stamping was the early part of the change over which happened in during May, June, and July of 1970
