What year of donor would I be looking for? Would the multi displacement be ok? I want to use the OD trans and factory efi if I can. What swap kit is recommended?

I guess I am wondering if I would be looking for a truck or car engine/wreck. Is the transfer case on a truck attached to the trans? That probably wont work for my transplant?

I not a expert on transplant but I would think the non msd would be the best choice. I could be wrong. I wouldn't mind a hemi swap in my 99 ram...

if you are wanting to to use the auto trans from a late model be prepared to cut up your car.the early 5.7 trucks will fit better as for as accecories go.

There is an 05 durango which was rolled for sale near by but its a 4x4. I dont know if its trans will work for the swap. cutting the floor is ok, as its a bench seat car.

With the later OD trans, I believe the T bar X member requires surgery to fit. More than floor mods. I really like the Gen III hemis and would love one in an A body... jut be prepared for some time and expense to get it to work.

Bouchillon sells a variety of products to help the install - you might look at their site for ideas.

The transfer case IS bolted to the back of the trans. It was on my 2006 truck anyway.
The MDS system is rendered inoperable without the computer, but I have heard of some people simply replacing the 8 lifters that are affected. Trouble is, the heads have to come off to get to them.
The truck versus car engine debate? They're basically the same inside. I've read that the reason for the different HP ratings has more to do with the more restrictive intake tract in the cars..... a factor that is moot if you utilize some sort of less restrictive filter. The accessories for the cars are different than the trucks. I've read that the majority of 5.7 swaps into cars use the more abundant truck motors using a mix of car and truck parts.
