Does anyone know where I can find a drop base for the P5249807 Mopar Performance cast aluminum air cleaner? I am running a Thermoquad (which runs a thousand times better than the 600 Edelbrock in terms of power, response, and mpg), with an adapter plate on my dual plane M1 and the air cleaner wont allow the hood to close. I can find anything and everything for a 14", but nothing for a 12 3/4". Anybody have any ideas? Im stuck using a dual snorkle air cleaner on it right now which is fine, but Id really like to use the MP one since I just bought it. Anybody know? Thanks in advance!

Ford Motorsports use to sell a drop base filter, it was 13" & dropped the filter about 3/4" the turn up used on Ebay pretty regularly...

In 2003 I had to take my MP base and a dropped base from another assembly to a guy who melded the two together. He tig welded them and it looks great. I dont know if anyone has stepped up to fill this void, but it would certainly help people. My 70 Charger with a 440/493 and Performer RPM intake needed more clearance to the hood. The TIG modified base gave me 1 1/4" more drop. That was just right.

I bought that ford base at a garage sale for a buck. It works perfectly with the mopar cast top.

Too many cars, too many parts, too little coin, too little space to work in, too little time left to make it all happen! Update: down to one ride, still too many parts, a little more jingle in the pocket, gaining space, and it's going to happen this year!

Nice tip. This might make one of those 10,000 acre "All makes and models" swap meets worthwhile to me.
I used to be a Chevy guy. Back then those swap meets were great. It was like grocery shopping. EVERYTHING you need on the list was there.

Awesome, thanks! I'll have to check eBay. We do have a swap meet coming up in a couple weeks too. I guess I should branch out a little further than Summit and Google

One other tip: A K&N E-1550 filter element fits.
