I've got a console and it appears to have the front cut off from the factory. The shop I work at restored a '74 Dart Sport, and the gentleman brought in another console, and we had to cut it to fit with the A/C. Did Chrysler have to modify these consoles? I haven't seen any without the fronts, so I was just curious.

They were cut off to clear some aftermarket/dealer AC units. They did not need modification to clear factory air.
