I made the brackets.
and did multiple test fits before welding them in place. As mounting them with bolts/screws was not an option as the screw heads would dig into the bottom of the battery. So, I fired up the mig.

I was advised it's best to have the regulator as close the carbs as possibile to avoid pressure drops.
So, I had a new #8 stainless line made to run from the main body line up to the,, now carb mounted pressure regulator.

Thanks to Dave at Instant Karma Racing in Walton Ky.

With no hard line . I made a simeple bracket to support the flex line to avoid any contact with the block or moving parts.

With the battery tray now painted body color like it's supposed to be. I mounted the MSD box and started running wiring.
Still reasonabley accesable to change the RPM chip if need be, but very much out of the way.

It's being converted to a hydraulic clutch, which was a bit of a challenge to get right( but thats another story all by itself)

Now all plumbed and ready to bleed the system. Again thanks to Instant Karma racing for providing the adapter to connect it all.

It's pretty scarry to think that this engine that you're building / tweaking is going to have at least five times the gonads of what I'm currently running. Hopefully someone under the age of 17 won't be allowed to sit behind the wheel of this deadly vehicle.

So will this be an alcohol burner or will it be running on something like 100 octane aviation fuel?

Deadly vehicle ? I'm not sure how to take this comment.

But I assure you, the owner is a long way from being just some kid.

and BTW, it's a pump gas motor, albeit it's going to have to be REALLY good gas.

I like the Burnt Orange very well also. One of my all time favorites is Burnt Orange and white. I have only seen it twice. Burnt orange floor, dash, a pillars & kick panels with white seating and door panels. Is that a burnt orange rim blow wheel I spot on the seat? If so, that is a rare piece.

Bill - call me on the steering column...somewhere in one of the many boxes of parts I gave you there is a Flaming River steering coupler that needs to be installed and have a hole drilled in the column shaft.

Bill...Looks great so far, probably more work than first anticipated.
I would love to be bustin knuckles and turnin wrenches on that one. I understand why and I'm glad the owner chose your shop to get it done!

Are we allowed to post "business" project updates here?

Alan,
Theres been a few suprises- mainly with the hydraulic clutch. But overall so far so good. And I think I'm inline with my original estimate.

All the drivetrain is in. Exhaust is hooked up, driveshaft is in.
Owner had the electric pump re-built and it showed back up today, so it'll go back in tomorrow..
Got the steering column in with the flaming river coupler today and it's plugged in. And it's now back down on it's 4 wheels

I have to get the clutch and the brakes bled this week, then do a final shifter adjustment.( can't get it in reverse) .
I have to pick up some fuses tomorrow, double ck over everything and see what it gets me.

SO, with a little luck it might be running this weekend.

And I WILL do a video, I'm dieing to hear this one run.

Part of the deal is to redo the six 15" rallye's and they were kinda rough. I figured out real quick it was more cost effective to have them dipped. And I just picked them up this afternoon. Then I'll paint them myself in the correct colors.

BTW, you should see the dash looking thru the
re-done burnt orange rimblow steering wheel. It makes for a very nice view.
here's a tease
