OK, just to make sure I don't goof this up, the bigblocks firing order around the distributor is counter clockwise correct?

And number one should be facing towards the front of the engine? My distributor doesn't have a vacuum canister, so I can turn the distributor without it touching the head.

Sorry. This is my first RB, and I couldn't find the info I need in the tech pages, or my FSM for that matter.

Put the oil pump drive shaft in with the slot in line with the crank . Standing at the pass side looking at the dist the #1 is usually about 4 - 5 o- clock then you are correct go counter clock wise 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2

Try this...

unless you want it exactly like the factory did # 1 can really be anywhere you want , especially if you are custom making your wires , then just follow the firing order from there .
