I'm in the process of taking out my blown slant six from my 72 duster. I just acquired a Super Slant Six from a 77 Aspen... what do i need to convert to have an "easy" swap?? its only temporary until i get the 340 done, but what else besides the wiring harness ( to omit POINTS!!) would i need? thanks

Nothing, rip out the dead one and slam the Super Six in!!

Yankin' and Slammin' a Mopar Super Slant Six!!

There's even a super easy way to turn the factory Mopar magnetic pickup dizzy into an HEI using junkyard schtuff, but I don't have a handy-dandy link-o-rama.

Oh, if you have a voodoo juicebox you'll need the Super Six specification kickdown linkage or convert over to a cable kickdown.

Almost forgot about that!

As stated, you must have the Super Six kick down linkage. I'd swap the tranny in from the Aspen or donor as well; might be a lockup trans and get a little better mileage.

Unfortunately the trans was a four speed and the guy I got the motor from took that.. on a better note... my buddy and I swapped the motors in 3 hours but are stuck with the wiring harness issue.... what exactly do I need to replace on the standard points setup so that I can switch out on the plug by the firewall...I have the four prong ballast and the silver box on the inner fender... finding an electronic setup for a 72 was harder than I thought ... is there anything im missing here?

If you have the electronic distributor, here's a link to wire it. If you're trying to convert your point dist. to electronic, I can't help you there.

When you yank that super six for the 340, Go to SlantSix.org. Guys over there are always looking for super six stuff. I got $50 bucks just for the iron 2 bbl intake. The exhaust manifold has a larger outlet and flange than a standard 1 bbl engine too.

No, it does not, but the manifolds are always in demand because they crack a lot.
