Rebuilding stock 72 340s, one from a cuda, and the other from a challenger, any one know correct engine color? Thanks

Depending on the build date, but they both should be blue. There have been orange motors in early SPD (scheduled production date) cars. But unless you have proof it was orange, its better to go the correct for the year blue. Although never say never when it comes to mopars.

A factory 1972 340 painted Orange? I don't think so, they started painting them blue in March/April of 1971 production.

Yep, blue, my '72 & '73 were both blue, but then again so was my '69!

Thanks for the help!. I worked at a Chryler garage in 70 and have been around a while. thought they should be blue but was second guessing my-self! thanks again.

Everything went blue in '72 .
