Brian what did you design on that lifter? I have talked the the same guy you get them from and they are his design. Its a comp AMC lifter. All the lifter you sell are made by the company Comp has contracted to manufacture them. If you use the lifter in your picture without bushing the block it with have oil pressure problems. If the block is bushed correctly you do not need the oil hole parallel with the axle. Just use the correct Comp Brand lifter and you will be fine. Brian its great to help people but to take credit for someone elses work, come on.

If you've spoken with Jim, then you should know we helped with hole placement on the BB lifters, as well as pushrod seat height and confirmation of oiling with .470 lobe cam plus dyno results of the lifters themselves. We also figured out where the link bar should sit in relation to the pushrod seat. Those BB bodies are not an AMC copy of anything.
With the sb lifter, we helped with the spacer deal but that was Jim's idea...we did alot of research for him with different blocks and cams, different lobe sizes and with oem blocks as well as race blocks.
Also with the sb lifters, had him move the oil holes parallel with the axle, and WE decided where the pushrod seat should be as well as the link bar height.

As I said before, we HELPED in the design...never took credit for the whole design as that was Jim's idea's. Jim was in our shop a few times going over dimensions of everything...how many times was he in your shop?

Comp still hasn't started using our lifters so they're still available

Ok, who is "our" ???

IMM engines. I helped design these lifters with the manufacturer. Comp grinds cams...that's really it. Yes they do R&D, but most of the products they sell are made for them private label.
And EVERY other cam company does the same thing.

Comp now uses our sb design lifters, but so far they have not given a part # to the BB lifters so I'm free to sell them.
Brian

What I meant here by OUR sb design was Jim and me...not just IMM. Jim is the designer of those lifters and we helped in the finished product. Jim did make changes to both lifters after we looked at them and ran them in engines on our dyno. So we helped...that's all I've ever claimed!!

I've used these lifters in BB's with a Comp RX Drag lobe using .470 lobe lift and had the base circle reduced .020. After that there was enough room for a .484 lobe as well.

Pete, not sure I understood your note correctly. The lifters in the picture seem to work just fine in stock blocks. That is the benefit of having the oil hole drilled crossways. Is that what you ment to say?

The lifters with the hole drilled into the oil gallery are the ones that have oil pressure problems. I have some lifters here from Crower that won't hold oil pressure because they are drilled wrong. It seems like most of the vendors drill their Mopar lifters the wrong way. Probably because they are all Chevy guys and don't bother to think about what they are doing when they make Mopar parts.

andy do you have some pics of the crowers... My lifter bushings are drilled at 3 & 9 if you were facing the front of the block! so i need a set that is drilled parralel with the oil galley!

Anyone have part numbers for the Morel or Crower lifters? a friend is putting together a B1 engine and was asking me about sourcing some lifters amoung other parts for him.
email me if it's easier

In the .904" Crane Ultra Pro roller lifter line, there's the 66542-16 (standard pushrod seat height), 66543-16 (pushrod seat raised .120"), and the 66550-16 (standard pushrod seat height with pushrod oiling). Regards, Chase

If it's a B1 you'll need offset intakes.

i know T&D and jesel are the best and thats whats going to be recommened here but lets start by saying... it aint gonna happen. the high end stuff is way out of the budget. im talking more in the lines of howards, herbert, comp etc.. which ones/who's brand oils through the pushrods? im ethier going to do iron rockers from RAS or comp magnums in which i need BALL BALL pushrods.
so which roller lifters do you recommend for a budget 440
herbert,howards,lunati,etc...

Don`t skimp in this area............been running Isky solid bodys(no oil band to kill oil pressure)in a un bushed 400 block for 6+ years and just had em rebuilt. Two were starting to go away after thousands of street miles and a few hundred passes. Ask for Rod and tell him Dominic sent ya...............you won`t b dissapointed.
