Brian what did you design on that lifter? I have talked the the same guy you get them from and they are his design. Its a comp AMC lifter. All the lifter you sell are made by the company Comp has contracted to manufacture them. If you use the lifter in your picture without bushing the block it with have oil pressure problems. If the block is bushed correctly you do not need the oil hole parallel with the axle. Just use the correct Comp Brand lifter and you will be fine. Brian its great to help people but to take credit for someone elses work, come on.
If you've spoken with Jim, then you should know we helped with hole placement on the BB lifters, as well as pushrod seat height and confirmation of oiling with .470 lobe cam plus dyno results of the lifters themselves. We also figured out where the link bar should sit in relation to the pushrod seat. Those BB bodies are not an AMC copy of anything. With the sb lifter, we helped with the spacer deal but that was Jim's idea...we did alot of research for him with different blocks and cams, different lobe sizes and with oem blocks as well as race blocks. Also with the sb lifters, had him move the oil holes parallel with the axle, and WE decided where the pushrod seat should be as well as the link bar height.
As I said before, we HELPED in the design...never took credit for the whole design as that was Jim's idea's. Jim was in our shop a few times going over dimensions of everything...how many times was he in your shop?
