I have the main hoop tack welded in my truck. I used a 3 inch hole saw to go thru the floor mainly because it was the best hole saw i had between 1 3/4 to 3 inch. so to cover the bigger hole I took 1/8th inch plate put a 1 3/4 hole and opened with a carbide so it just slid up the main hoop before i put it through the floor and tack that to the bar then the floor. I would like to do this to all the points esentialy tieing the cab and bed solid to the frame.
The out riggers are 2x4 1/4 thick I know these are plenty big and over kill but its what the metal suplier had drops of.

Does anyone think there is antyhing wrong with this before i put the other points in.

Also as for the fire wall i had to pound the firewall by the trans tunnel in a little to clear the trans would tech inspectors consider this to be altered and will I have to put a full 10-point in to run 10's

Pics would help. On the trans tunnel, you are allowed to cut out a huge section, and still qualify as a "Stock floorpan" vehicle. The "pads" you are welding in to cover the holes should be 6X6 to meet the letter of the rules, but nice carpet in the floor goes a long way to keep people from getting too technical.

You could have used sheet metal for where you went
through the floor... you need the 6 X 6 X 1/8 plate IF
you are mounting to the floor but you went to the frame...

said those down riggers are WAY over kill
