I see the "green caps" is a group 24 and the "red caps" is a group 27.

Which is correct for my car, and is there a cheaper place than year one? 450 shipped for a car battery is ...... a bit strange.

The only way to know which battery is by the Broadcast Sheet. But put in the biggest: group 27 red caps. www.turbostart.com usually has best prices and customer service. Buy the sealed type so you don't have to deal with acid. I also put a mat under the battery and trim it tight so it's not seen. Ron

But like I said before.....catalog sure is purrty....

Since you're not going with a 100 point resto, maybe opt for the cover. Its basically a cap that sits on top of an aftermarket battery and makes it look similar to an original....

Nice job so far. I really like the color. Mine was that color originally but I wanted more pop, but if I had seen your car with fresh paint first I may have swayed. Maybe you allready saw it if not take a look maybe it will help answer some questions. Don't take it as gosspel it's not perfect by any means. Idk why people hate Green on MOPARS. I love it! Post more! More Pics! This is just the motivation I need to start on my project for next year! Your work is amazing! I love how you are respecting the way it was born (with the correct engine and paint) but still making it your own. I plan on doing the same with my 1968 Dodge Dart. I want to see how this beast will turn out!

Thanks for all the comments!! No, the wheel wells are 100% stock, original metal. They key here....is the 5.5" backspaced wheels.

That car and those wheels look Killer.
It's your car and if you want yellow frame rails,
then paint them yellow.. LOL..
my car is being done the way I want to do it and not how others feel it should be done, your's

I am doing this the way I wanted to. And in the process I am not cutting, hacking, or modifying the body in anyway, so I can go for a more OE look if the end product does not suit the taste.

So, here are more updates.

1. Ordered a painless mopar wiring harness.
2. Ordered (Thanks Dante) trim pieces, carpet insulation, and screw kits.
3. Ordered the black inspection plate things that are for the inner fender wells (with screws) and a new clutch arm boot.
4. I am looking now for a radiator, as the messy state I bought this car in....didn't have one.

Rebuilt transmission (which by the way, 750.00 to rebuild, seemed steep, but the main shaft was worn and rusty, so the shop had to replace nearly all internals, so maybe 750 isn't bad.) being installed:

Weight of the motor squashed the front end down quite a bit - obviously that will have to be adjusted.





Weather stripping to put the doors, trunk, and hood on will be next to dent the check book, along with a radiator and hoses.



Man...I still can't get over how good the hood turned out. YEAHHH!!!

Yes, the cowl area will be painted with the black stripes after I get the hood mounted to ensure proper line-up.

I have been busy these last few weeks, but have recently purchased all of the weatherstripping, and those bushings for the trunk arms.

EVERYTHING looks dusty/dirty (lots of dust in the shop) so these pictures look dirty, sorry.

However, I have mocked up the steering with new parts:

When the weatherstripping comes in, I'll test fit and adjust the doors. Here I am checking hinges:



Next will be mounting the trunk, hood, and doors for fitment and alignment.

Correct or not, you are making lots of progress. You seem to be very motivated and on track with just 1 build unlike most of us with multiple projects in which niether can be funded. ...but just keep chuggin and enjoy it when it's done, regardless of whether it's to everyones liking. As the old saying goes, "You can't please everybody"..!!

Hey You have a good looking car! I like the B body,s I have a 1968 Hemi Road Runner Thats is a FF1 mist green almost same color of your 1970 car. I also have a 1970 Road Runner Six Pack FY1 Yellow Its on Moparts( Member Projects&Survivor Pictures)Was on page 3or4 but some one removed some of the pictures we had on .We had it at Carlisle in building T last year 2010.
