Taurus fan pull more amps than hhr fan.,It is also thicker.I know you will need a lot of alternator for the taurus fan.Check the amps for the taurus.

I run the Taurus fan...and it's a great fan. But he's right...it pulls way more amps both at startup and while running. No telling if it actually pulls more air (the 4000cfm) like people claim though. I run a 140 amp powermaster alt...so it doesn't bother me.

The Taurus fan may be thicker...but it likely can fit where the HHR won't because its motor is offset in the shroud allowing the waterpump pulley to clear the fan in my car. The HHR wont fit my car with a mech water pump...but it would clear with an electric Water pump.

I would run the HHR fan if I could just because it would fit my northern radiator almost perfectly.

Being that the Taurus fan assm is thicker(the whole
thing) I probably cant use that... I'm working with
some small area for the radiator and fan

Well thats the problem... I have to put the radiator
in the nose/fascia on a angle... so its not the fan
motor itself I have to clear... it'll be the shroud
more than anything(at least I hope)
EDIT
I'm trying to get a 18" X 24" radiator in it

depends on the size of your rad the HHR fan was to small for my rad so I found 1 from a 95 caravan that works great and covered my entire rad.

Sweet. I missed out on a member selling his. Eric, is it as cheap to go through you? Maybe I'll call Rock Auto and use the discount code.

Rick...I'm not at a GM store anymore....Rock Auto would be the way to go. They show three different manufacturers for the HHR fan...personally I would probably drop the extra $9 for the Dorman..
