Getting staged to roll the motor in from the bottom. Finishing up on the things I can assemble ahead of time. Noticed my steering gear box was leaking over the weekend so I will need a quick turn around on a rebuild before the motor goes in. Also wanted to undercoat the wheel wells to avoid any overspray.

Got some tips from Darren and Charlie on the spray patterns for the wheel wells. Just need to get the garage all warmed up and the car masked off for the job. I guess this stuff is messy. We'll find out in the next couple days..

Sprayed the front wheel wells with the undercoating from Eastwood. Went on really well will need to do some touch the yellow paint shows through the black really easy.

Started working on the car lift bar. It is probably a little oversized but this is what I had in the shop. I figure it will need to go about 4 feet up. The stand my motor is on is only about 18" high for the top of the Kframe.

The lifting bar attached to the bumper brkt holes and bolted together.

Experimented with different lifting methods and this one appears to be the one I'm going with.. I did get a suggestion to weld the lifting ring closed and I will do that tomorrow before sliding the motor underneath.

I've never hear do checking the bell housing alignment. Learn something new everyday. Looks like you have everything heading in the right direction and have made a lot of great progress. Where did you send your steering gear to have it rebuilt?

Thanks for the comments Joe. Did you guys fair well in all the weather systems? Some nasty pictues on the news just south of you.
I never did check the bellhousing alignment the tranny just bolted right up no issues. The steering box is at the shop Red Head Steering gear in Seattle. hope to get it back by Monday..

Got the motor installed over the weekend. The process went very well I highly recommend using this type of installation. The engine was not a complete unit but this allowed ease during the install.

The motor slide under nicely and as the car was lowered the aft tranny mount bolted up and then we lowered it right down on the motor.

We did have to make some special jacking steps to get the cradle out from under the motor, but nothing major. Now the work begins.

Working on suspension and steering in order to get the car down on the rubber. Looking back should have installed these prior to loading the motor

Major milestone last night! The Cuda is now back on the rubber. My estimate is that has not occured since 1994, at least 15 years. The tabs on the liscense plate that came with the car had 93 on them. I rolled it around in the garage so as to help settle all the suspension. Im sure things will settle more over the next few days. These are the stock wheels but I think Im going to run the Magnum 500 they look so much nicer on that year of car. Will post more photos tomorrow..

Awsome! Getting it back on its own wheels is a big accomplishment.

I'm not a huge fan of the 72+ center caps that came on the Rallye wheels. The Road Wheels look nicer IMO. It's too bad you have brand new tires. You could have gone with a set of 15" Magnum wheels. Then down the road you could get some reproduction Polyglass tires to use on the Rallye's if you ever wanted to go back to stock.
