What are the best manuals to own for your car. I own the factory service manual for my 1969, but it lacks some detail (exploded view of parts). Is the 1969 Chrysler Parts Passenger Car Parts Catalog better (i.e., a must have)?

where is a goof place/price to get one?

what about these newer manuals? Are they useful. without being able to see them in hand it is tough to know which to get and for the prices it would be best to know that you are getting the right ones.

thanks for any insight.

Good suggestions both.
The Parts books do not always offer more detailed exploded views. They're good for what they are, but I'm not sure its what you are looking for.

When Was in North Jersey, I knew the local dealers that still had the older parts books. At some point, maybe a car show/swap meet, I picked up a CD with the '69 parts book scanned in pdf format. About $25 IIRC. If you really want a parts book, look for something like that. A more recent version probably would include some sort of search function depending on the format it was scanned in.

If you really want a print copy, I'd look for other vendors. Faxon isn't bad, but they aren't good either. I bought my '85 Grand Wagoneer shop books from them, and it wasn't a true reprint. Copier grade paper (16 or 20 lb) and there were pages missing. After several swaps of the books missing the pages, I told them to just send me the pages seperate. They did.

Another good website for factory literature is www.imperialclub.org especially the Master Technicians Conference booklets http://www.imperialclub.org/Repair/Lit/Master/index.htm
