Leaving your trailer loaded ( storing an old car)
will hurt the torsion axles on a enclosed ?
I called DEXTER axles and asked that same question.....they said the enviroment is harder on them than the weight.

I got the same answer from a local dealer,,I use mine to store patio furniture, parts, quad, etc for the winter, I do use two jack stand's under the rear corners and jack up the front to take some of the load off of the axels and use tire cover's over the wheel's, for piece of mind if nothing else.

That's good, my old jeep is sitting in mine until the spring. Long story, don't ask.

lol Same here. I use to keep my car on an open trailer under a car cover. When I finally got an enclosed trailer, I bragged that I FINALLY got a garage, and it's on wheels! Trust me when I say I really do use it like a garage.... I've even changed transmissions in it!

I've own and used three enclosed trailers in the last 15 years, two 24 Ft 10,000 Lbs rated trailers and one 22 Ft. 7000 lb rated. All of them have had cars in them since I bought them other than at the race track with the car racing or if I took the car out and put the it in the shop to work on all kinds of myths out there Way better to use it than to let it sit empty

The first 10,000 lbs was a Braco with leaf springs, the last two have been Pace Shadows with torsional axles The current 24 ft. 10,000 GVW one is a 1999 model bought new in 2001 by a freind of mine who kept cars in it from day one. He bought a 48 Ft gooseneck with living quarters in 2003 and sold me his old one then I have used it a lot since then

ALL my trailers have been torsional axles and I dont think my current one has been empty for more than 30 days of its life... and that includes race weekends (most of the times I pull back in at night)

I bought my trailer with torsion axels new 15 years ago and I have left a car sit in it from end of Sept to end of June since I bought it and it is still just fine.

Mine always has a car in it. As well as the cart and tools, never been an issue with any of the three torsion axle units I have owned.

Dad, Call Bill Boon (Texas Trailer Man). He's in Haltom City, if anybody knows the straight skinny, it'll be Bill.817-759-1950

I`ve kept my D150 in mine for the last couple of winters while the Dart is in the garage, its a tight fit, I wouldn`t tow it that way, I have to take the tarp off and climb out the sliding rear window because its too wide to open the doors but at least its out of the elements.

That is where my car is stored. Think of it as a portable garage. Thinking of converting it to a part time horse trailer. Little tough to get to right now though.

Not same thing but my old balloon trailer had a torsion axle. The trailer was an 89. Had something in it all its life before I got it. When we got it the whole basket, envelope, inflator fan and all related stuff went in it and never came out unless we flew or used trailer for something else. Never seen anything wrong with axles at anytime. When I sold it it went to Walla Walla Washington and the guy said he never knew the trailer was back there the whole way home. I know it isn't the same as a car trailer but still same concept.
