Most newer cars are running 200-210 for less emmisions, more MPG, I do not care about emmisions but I like hotter heat, more MPG, evaporateng condensation and gasoline from the oil faster, faster warm up of the engine and cab...

I don't think just changing to a hotter stat is going to gain you much in the MPG department. There is more to that then just running a few degrees hotter. Going to a hotter stat isn't going to make the engine heat up any faster. It's just going to take longer for the stat to open. It will help the interior get warmer.

The Stant 'standard grade'
205 degrees
Part Number 13352
Price I think was less than $5 about a decade ago.

This one will fit the Magnum thermostat housing.

If you really want a true 205 degrees F calibration,
my advice would be to order 5 of these Stants,
test them all in hot water on the stove
then send 4 back.

I had one of these 205 Stants
in my 1995 5.9 V8
but a OBD-I Actron Scantool data screen showed 193 degrees at typical cruise,
so it might have been a bit low from the Stant factory,
or maybe the tiny 'air hole' was still big enough to let enough coolant through even when the main valve was closed that it could not get the temperature up above 193 at around 40 hp cruise load and 1600 rpm.

I would like to try a 212 to 260 degree F thermostat,
and at present actually need to fix a small drip at my thermostat housing gasket.

I am still running Evans NPG coolant in this 5.9 V8 so there is no boil over until about +306 degrees F.

Does anyone know of a thermostat being made today over 212 degrees F?

Most all new cars run a 195 stat. They run hotter than the stats rating. The fans on most dont come on till they reach 220 to 230.Ive only had a few that the fans came on under 220.They run hotter because the elec fans are set to come on at a certain temp.Rocky
