I'm looking to convert my 3 on the tree 72' Duster to a 4 speed car. I'm running a small block so I have a SB bell housing, fork, with a A 833 trans out of a 72 Duster. Are the pedal assemblies and hardware the same? What may I need to replace or obtain if anything? Thanks, Tony

Pedals are the same.Reverse light switch is plug n play. Transmission mount is the same, too. You will need a floor hump,4 speed shifter, and linkage to fit the conversion. The floor shift auto and 4 speed cars used the same steering column Locate one if you want it to look authentic..Otherwise just pop out the column shifter.

The repo 4 speed humps they sell are for 75-76 A bodies. Extra fabbing required. I am stalled on my conversion on my 72. No time to work on it.
Why don't they make a 74 back hump??
Look for an original.
Pedal is a little different from a 3 speed. It will work. Just won't be correct if you are into that.

Thanks for the information I have a hump from a 71' Duster that was removed by the spot welds. Is there a template or measurements available as to were the hump should be located? Tony

There are 2 diff humps available for A body. 67-74 and the 75-6. Clutch/brake pedal assy is NOT different between 3/4speed.
Suppossedly the pedal for the 4 speed is heavier duty because of an extra gear change.
I ordered my hump from Dante's. They didn't have the other listed. Was told that was all that was available. It's been a while since I bought mine.
BTW I drilled mine and set it with stainless sheel metal screws. Caulked the crap out of it with Permatex RTV.
I never completed the install. (no welder) Think I will get the other hump now.
Also I painted the bottom bright white so it would reflect light to make working on the shifter and linkage easier.
