hey,
first of all; i wish you all a good and healthy new year.

I was wondering if someone can help me on detailed pictures of undercarriages/factory paintmarks from early b-bodies, as i am restoring my 1963 savoy and want to detail it as good as possible.
any info is welcome!
thanks,
Marcel

The best markings to put back on are the ones you found before and during the disassembly procedure. If the car was restored, rattle-canned etc. before you got it the next best thing is to go look at as many original cars as you can. This may not be practical considering your geographical location. Maybe some max-wedge guys can chime in here.

While doing research for my Hamtramack built 1964 Dodge the best info I got was that those cars were dipped in a light colored primer up to just above the rockers some say it had a green tint but the cars I looked at were almost a cream color the body color then showed alot on the undercarriage a rust color primer covered most of the inside of these cars markings on the rear ends were different color paint dabs orange blue and white look on the Chrysler historical site or 62 to 65 b bodies site few cars are finished correctly but again it depends on what plant your car was built.

the car had lost all of it's markings due to being in a field for 20 years. But i have seen a lot of survivorcars the last few years so i can get a lot of info from that.

thanks!

Troy, a friend of mine, from Houston, restored his 68 hemi charger a few years back ( car is gone now in favour of a daytona ) and it had the undercarriage in a lightgreyish color; but that was a 68 car so that could be different.
My car is not an original maxwedge car and it will not be a perfect clone, but i will do my best to make it as good as possible!
