Ford taped into the #8 port on some engines.. it works but,, every time you use the brakes it leans out that cylinder.. after time that leads to a burnt valve in the said cylinder... much better to tap the plenum...

Kinda curious why a slight vacuum leak during a no load no load situation would burn a valve.

I like your fuel line with the brass tee, did you fab that or purchase it?

Yours is a service replacement for the 65 HP 396 Z-16: dated "194" 1= 1971, 9= 9th month (sept), 4= 4th. week of that month.

I would sell it on Ebay and buy a current version from Quick Fuel.

if thats the Gm carb it should have a tube on the carb body below the air cleaner flange for the pcv that goes directly into the venturi, I dont see a ploblem tapping the manifold for the brakes it holds vacuum not draws air, can't see burning a valve unless you drove around with a bad booster, you can't tee into the booster line as then you wouldn't get vacuum on the booster
