Has anyone fed their vacuum pump on a big block from the fuel pump block off plate? I'm running a Jesel so theres no chain flinging oil around. It appears to be in a well baffled location. Also would make for a clean install. What do you think?

Some companies sell them for BBC applications, which will also fit your BBM.
Good Luck

Mine has been in a few places. We settled on the inside part of the valvecover centered on a rocker stand. Seems to be the best location for me at least. I have never seen anyone successfully use the fuel pump boss on a west sump Mopar application FWIW.

You can see mine in the picture of the drivers side cover. No line in it in the pic but the fitting is there.

I would... like you said, no chain, that would make for
a clean point... I think I might shield the port also
just to make sure about oil flying around(I never
seen a video of that area)

The inside of the cover mentioned by Al won't work. The Indy Cross Ram is to close to the valve cover. I removed the fuel pump block off plate. The passage is only open towards the bottom of the block except for the fuel pump push rod hole. That hole could be plugged. There are no oil return passages in this area either. The only thing is the front of the crank which is smooth where the timing gear would be. I would think this area would be pretty "dead" as far as oil movement. Only requirement is drilling the plate for 1/2 NPT.
