1.2 miles,,I can hear the announcer on a clear nite, can't tell what he is saying but I can hear him.

Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.

It is about 4 miles as the frigate bird flies. A bit longer as the Road Runner drives. Takes around 15-20 minutes but 5 of that is getting down our road. I can see the light glow from our porch so easy to know if they are open. That will change when we move to our own place but that is okay.

About 50 minutes on 2 lane blacktop, Lots of stop signs and lights. No easy way from down in the farmland where I live. But nobody complains when I start my car in the driveway

I thought I had it good. It is 30 miles each way for me. A smaller 1/8th mile track is about 60, and several others when you open up the drive time to 2-3 hours.

4 miles from Firebird.
I can't hear the announcer (mainly because the track's PA system is so very poor), but I can clearly hear the cars and boats from my home. The jet-car "pops" sound like somebody is pounding on my windows.

Little over 1.5 hours to Las Vegas. 3hrs to Speedworld over by Phoenix. 3hrs to Fontana. When diesel hit 5 a gallon a couple years ago I parked the car and haven't been out since.

When I live in sodak the two "local" tracks were 4 hours away.

1.5 hours to the closest, 6 hours to the next closest, about 8-10 hours for several others. I don't think I've ever lived closer than an hour from a track.

Jim you suck. I'am within 1 1/2 hours of my home track which is Skyview dragway in Tioga NY and within 1 1/2 hours of ESTA in Cicero NY and Spencer Speedway in Spencer NY and Empire in Liechester NY. All good tracks.

If the MODS did their job I would not be hitting the notify MOD button. LOL

There are 7 tracks within 100 miles of me. Two of them are on the Great Miami River, about 16 miles apart.

Those days long ago of racing Saturday and Sunday every weekend are some of my best memories.

About 30 miles to MCIR, 50 miles to Pacemakers, 62 miles to Norwalk, Trails is somewhere around 50-60 mile depending on route. I consider Norwalk my home track as that is where I am usually. Beep

Edgewater is less than 4 miles away, I can get there without going through a intersection with a traffic light. I can also hear the cars when the wind is right.

Yep, gotta love being in Ohio! I have 9 tracks within 2 hours of my house! Of course, we can only race from April to October. Except for Dragway 42 on New Year's Day...

I can get to Maplegrove in about 20-25 minutes. But I go right by the exit for Maplegrove when I'm on my way to Cecil County which is about 1 hour and a couple minutes depending on traffic.

HERE and NOW ... Northern MI Dragway ...35 miles.

But I am working on a possible-purchase of property in the West-Coast central location of FL ... VERY near Bradenton.

ONE 5 acre parcel is 4 miles away .. the other is ON HALF mile away ... and the GulfoMex is 15 miles away ...

In either case .... I will have an RV pad or two for driveway-"visitors".

Beaver Springs is 1hr. 15 min. drive. If I could drive straight there probably may be 40 min. 45 miles.

Numedia is 30 miles but drive time is about 1 hr.

Maple Grove is about a 2 hr 30 min ride.

In PA there is no real good way to go NW to SE or any other way for that matter. You have to drive around this to get to that. Or drive all the way up here to cross this river or ......

It's about 3.5 miles to PIR as the crow flies. I can hear the cars if I can't go Woodburn is about 45 minutes down I-5 taking it easy. I've never been to another track.

We have 3 tracks all of them about a 3 hour drive, I have not figured out if that is a good thing or a bad thing?

I'm 25 min from TMP (Cayuga), all back roads. 1 1/2 hours from dusty St. Thomas dragway, 5+ from Milan, close to 7hrs from Norwalk.

20 min.to Milan Dragway, 2 hours to U.S 131 martin,
2 hours from Norwalk, 1 hour from Ubly dragway,

1hour 15 min to Lapeer dragway. Not bad here in MI but season too short.

When I had a race car;
35 mi to Orlando
40 mi to Lakeland
130 mi to Gainesville
130 mi to Bradenton

Now I don't have a race car;
4 mi to Central Florida Racing Complex (or whatever it's called)

11 miles from my house to Cherokee, but I'll drive past it a lot of times to go to Bristol (80 miles). Then Knoxville and English Mountain is 1 hour, Crossville and London,Ky about 2 hours.
Good tracks to choose from.

Don, I didn't know that Clarksville was still racing. I raced there in the mid 80's. First time I went there, missed the sign that said "DRAG STRIP", hand painted on a 1 X 3, 12" long, cut on one end to a point, nailed to a fence post. I was looking for a big billboard. Do they still have the high speed, banked turn at the end of the shut down?

100 miles to Milan, used to go to Grand Bend Ontario (nice track) only about 35 miles, not worth the hassle at the border.
