1.2 miles,,I can hear the announcer on a clear nite, can't tell what he is saying but I can hear him.

Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.

It is about 4 miles as the frigate bird flies. A bit longer as the Road Runner drives. Takes around 15-20 minutes but 5 of that is getting down our road. I can see the light glow from our porch so easy to know if they are open. That will change when we move to our own place but that is okay.

About 50 minutes on 2 lane blacktop, Lots of stop signs and lights. No easy way from down in the farmland where I live. But nobody complains when I start my car in the driveway

I thought I had it good. It is 30 miles each way for me. A smaller 1/8th mile track is about 60, and several others when you open up the drive time to 2-3 hours.

4 miles from Firebird.
I can't hear the announcer (mainly because the track's PA system is so very poor), but I can clearly hear the cars and boats from my home. The jet-car "pops" sound like somebody is pounding on my windows.

Little over 1.5 hours to Las Vegas. 3hrs to Speedworld over by Phoenix. 3hrs to Fontana. When diesel hit 5 a gallon a couple years ago I parked the car and haven't been out since.

When I live in sodak the two "local" tracks were 4 hours away.

1.5 hours to the closest, 6 hours to the next closest, about 8-10 hours for several others. I don't think I've ever lived closer than an hour from a track.
