Thats awsome!! Im wanting to do the same. I have the set up under the charger, and Im wanting to swap the strange stuff from it to my demon. Will I be able to take the 11 inch drums off my demon, and just swap it out? What about a proportioning valve for the rear disks? Also the charger has 5/8 studs will that be a problem since Im not planning on using them on the demon. Im just taking the charger off the track, and would like the disks on the car I drive the most.

If you have the 8.75 or dana 60 then everything bolt's right on, but you have to have the Green bearing's on the axel's and those are included in the kit,, as far as 5/8 stud's the disc's are drilled and slotted for both 5/8 and 1/2,,nice nice stuff.

drum and backing plate assembly was 33.5# each side, the disc, caliper and bracket are 12# each side. I figure between this and the front end, I should of knocked a 100#s or so off of the car, I have yet to weighted the front end stuff.

How come you have to go with Green bearings when swapping to disks? Is it because you can't use the axle adjuster for back lash? Do they get in the way with disks?

There are some disc brake kits that do not require the Green bearings. The kit from DoctorDiff is a good example of a rear disk kit that works with the stock bearings. The DoctorDiff kit also has an e-brake while some of the race kits don't.

I lost 45 lbs. off mine swapping to Aerospace 4-piston from 11" x 2 1/2"
You should notice the weight difference.

100 lbs. off of your car?

I'm going another +.020" on the 340!

Wow, Bob. You never sit still.. Still waiting to get the pics off of my camera.. Way to go, Billy. I wonder how differnt it will effect the cal trac settings? Might have to weigh and re-set them up? Thanks for the pics.

Boy does that tittle leave the door wide open

I picked up quite a bit when I swapped to 4 wheel discs and a spool. I really didn't get it at the time till someone mentioned that around every 10#'s of rotational weight you take off is liking taking off 100#'s of dead weight.

Not sure how true that is but that's what I heard.

I'm hoping I can do the same to the Arrow some time also....it's such a slug a 2130#.. ...I'd love to knock the Dana drums and factory Mustang II stuff to the curb and lose a tenth..

Chad, it going to fly with out it too.

wo23coronet,cannot answer that, the green bearing has a retainer ring around it that look's like a circlip that retains it and the bracket's are made for that.

Hookd, it actually stopped quite well but it started to get the stock front rotors hot to the point they started to turn black in spot's and were starting to warp them from the heat and at the end they would rumble the car when you applied them, turning the disc's would of corrected the out of trueness but I was afraid of heat stress and eventually cracking or worse.

Butch,,,both, but I feel safer now.

Russ, as long as I can keep going with my diet I may have to add some padding to the seat in the car, lost about 12# so far.

That was 1 drum and backing plate with brake shoes and hardware or 67# for both sides minus 24#total added back on for the Strange stuff, 43# weight loss,,the C barge drums are 21.5# each.

Those big drums are HEAVY! I knocked almost 66# off the front of mine going from those big drums to an Aerospace setup. Total weight of the entire Aerospace kit in the box was 27lbs

That's an awesome weight savings with the added benefit of safety. I am switching from four wheel drums to a race Wilwood setup on my Dart Sport. Also will be going to Bob's frontend at the same time!

A big win/win/win move.
Big stopping safety margin.
100# is a big amount of weight reduction.
Rotational weight will probably double the ET reduction?

did a little more checking and weighted some front end stuff and came up with an additional saving's of approx 80# over the old 73-76 front end components, this includes brakes, spindles, lca and strut rod,,looks to be around 120# total weight off the car
