For his Duster, my son Aaron bought some leaf springs that are supposed to be Super Stock. I'm having a hard time locating replacement bushings with similar dimensions to the ones in these springs when I use the term "Super Stock".

Tell me if these are what is truly considered "Super Stock":

Springs are 2-1/2" wide and have three long leaves and one very short leaf at the locating dowel where the axle mounts.
Front eyes -
1-1/2" inside diameter
1/2" diameter bolt
Rear eyes -
1" inside diameter
3/8" diameter bolt

I was under the impression that Super Stock springs have four leaves on the driver side and five on the passenger side, causing it to be raised slightly higher. These springs look no different than the stock springs on Aaron's Dart Sport.

Tell me what you think,
Jerry

There's a difference between ignorance and stupidity. Ignorance is not knowing any better. Stupidity is knowing, yet doing it anyway.

Those are not SS springs. The part number would end with 002 and 003 for SS springs.

Superstock springs have something like 7 leaves on one side, 6 on the other and 5/8" front eye bolt holes.

The SS springs are shorter and require a special front hanger. I think the shorter front section is to help prevent spring wind up/wheel hop

SS springs are the same length as A body cars. They are also the same length as some early B body cars. They have a 20 inch front segment which is a length that was used on several production cars.

Those are the numbers for the 68 superstock springs. There are many other numbers that are superstock springs for different applications.

The springs in the pictures look like they might have come out of a truck. Definately not any version of SS springs.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Thanks Andy. I was going by when I looked into springs for a Cuda. So some SS springs are short, and some are not?

All superstock springs are short (A-body length). They have a 20" front segment, regardless of the part number.
