I am selling my ex-blower motor to a guy that is going to put twin turbos on it. It has a blower cam (282@50 In 292@50 Ex 114 L/C and 750Int 710Ex lift) B1 heads fully ported, Aluminum Childs and Albert Blown Alcy rods 7 dyno pulls, 10.9 to 1 compression, 572 CI, KB aluminum block, all fresh parts. What do you guys think of the combo for a race only application. Any help would be appreciated. I have no clue about turbos.

That compression he'll definitely need to run good race gas (C-16)or alcohol.

He will probably want to change the cam as well to a more turbo specific cam.

Other than that looks GOOD!!

I'm thinking he just wants to make 1500HP. One question he had was should he be running steel rods, and I said definately not. Do you have any opinions on that? He is also getting several sets of head gaskets so he should be able to lower compression, if needed. What do you guys think about the difference between a blower cam and turbo cam? Thanks for the replys.

Aluminum Rods for sure. I think the cam would work good, but will really want to make a lot of power.

Im 9.6:1 compression on e-85 and at 31 lbs of boost I made 1320 hp. My cam is .248@50 intake and exhaust and .715 lift and my car is quite as a mouse and idles really smooth.... Bolt the turbos on and it a bad bad machine when he is done

How many passes should he expect to make before worrying about replacing the rods? And thanks for the info, I'm not positive on the cam specs as I don't have the cam card. He was going to check it out later as this is a long term project.

Im not sure if anyone can tell you....at least thats my assesment from all teh people I talk to. How hard will he spin it, how many times will he miss the tune up....all those things probably are deciding factors....

He actually has a duster with a turboed small block 340 that runs 10.0 but is only certified to 8.50. How fast is yours? And would it be better to start with a single turbo? I think he said he has a 150mm?

Not sure he needs twins or not but the rods should be fine. I am sure he might want to change the cam specs but other than that looks ok to me.

I was mis informed, he has 288's. And do you guys run vacuum pumps? If so what type? And thanks for the help. He know what he's doing but I want to make sure this motor is going to work for him, and I thought in theory the blower deal should be very close to the turbo deal.

Twin 88mm turbos would be ok on that wild motor and would actually be holding it back IMO. It will make 1500 HP without breaking a sweat.
