Just an update for those of you still waiting.
I just finished Hot Rod's Drag Week with my Passon 5 speed. It was flawless on the strip and down the road. One of the best upgrades I have ever made with the car. It was so nice to actually pass people on the highway! Info on my car- 1972 Challenger 3880 lbs with me in it, Dana 4.10 gears, new for this year 505 stroker (carb all messed up for drag week! any body want a gen 1 holley dominator?) ran a best of 11.53 during the week dropping the clutch at 4400 at the line and shifting at 5800-6000. Of course I did all of the required break in per Jamie's instructions. This box was great, the best shifting trans that's ever been in the car

so how much power can this thing handle? close to stock or can i slap it behind a twin turbo making 700+ HP? Are the ratios any good for road racing?

Dude, the ratios are listed, you have to decide if they will work for you for road racing.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

I couldn't stand not hearing any updates so I called Jamie. He said it's a good news/bad news deal. The bad news is he is changing the production process so immediate production will be extremely slow. The good news is that when the new process is in place he will be able to get A-855s out at a much faster pace. I'm number 182 and he says I'm realistically looking at a nine month delivery time.

First of all, I want to apologize for my lack of checking the board. We have been RIDICULOUSLY busy at the shop. That has pretty much left me very little time anything else.

I saw 64Barracuda's post and I wanted to make sure everything that everyone was hearing this from the horse's mouth instead of second hand.
Way back in the beginning, we were forced to make mention of this product probably 9-12 months earlier than we wanted to. This was forced by the expected announcement of the McLeod 5 speed unit. As everyone knows, that apparently was misinformation as this unit has not been released to date to my knowledge. At any rate, this unfortunately put into play a domino effect. It blew the lid off things and we have been trying to play catch up ever since. Including going down some avenues that were not fruitful during production.

One of the common questions I get from people is "have you been having any trouble with them?" As much as I want to say "NO! everything has been perfect!" I cannot lie to people like that. Anyone that has have ever manufactured something from a clean sheet of paper will tell you that there will ALWAYS be revisions needed. This project was no different than any other in that respect. We struggled through several issues. Some of which I NEVER would have thought would have been an issue. Some of these issues brought the project to a screeching halt in its tracks and took weeks/months to remedy. Couple this with an ever growing list of super excited people that are anticipating a true bolt in unit FINALLY and it becomes a recipe for disaster on our end. The extra stress adds to the time frame in different ways.

So, we have never been in a situation that we ever really had enough resources to make a huge production run of parts. It has been a small batch project. Well, this has not been working very well as most weeks the list grows two fold to what went out the door. Another issue is increasing costs of materials, machining. We will do our absolute best to try to keep these in check.

We are in the process of securing the production resources to make a much larger run of parts so that we can get many more built quicker. As soon as we finish those parts, we will be getting another run of parts in process so that they will be ready when we are wrapped up with the first one.

What is the end result is all I'm sure anyone cares about... We will be up and running under the new production layout at a much brisker pace in about 6 months. At that point we are anticipating having all backorders filled in as timely as fashion as possible. I am planning for a few months after that. Then at that point, we plan to stock the shelf with the units for very fast delivery.

I will keep people posted as often as possible as we are always running around keeping up with the 4 speed stuff too. If anyone has any questions, email is the best way to get me many times. Calling is fine, but you may have to leave a message and I will get back to you.
Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Jamie

Well said Jamie, I know how hard it has been, as a user with a lot of miles with the unit it is certainly well worth the challenges we had. Happy Thanksgiving

I second that, well said Jamie. As a purchaser of as I understand it one of the first 10 units, we worked through our issue. I now have about 2000 miles on mine since the break in process, about 1999 very hard miles and have had absolutely no problems at all with the unit. For you guys waiting for yours I can assure you that it is well worth the wait, a 4:30 geared small block a body with a direct fit 5 speed, it doesn't get much better than this!

Well said Jamie....I can understand needing the time to work through the issues and I am sure it will be worth the wait. I will send you an e-mail to confirm my number on the list...I honestly don't remember! I think it is like 180 or something......

Hope you had a good holiday with some much needed rest!

No i'm in the planning stages hence the very uninformed question. I see this is a getting a lot of attention and i know transmission can be a overlooked aspect of the car. sooo i figured this might be a good place to look.

i already like that can that i can mount it with stock shifter and mounts and drive shaft. so thank you for a link to the PDF ragtopdodge.

I have also been told the stock 440 block can only take so much power/horse power. I wish i could find the post talking about it.

any ways i'll print off off the PDF and see what the old man thinks.
