How did it compare to PRI.

I'm thinking about going to the IMIS show in Indy. If I have not seen enough go to PRI the following weekend.

Leon,

I went last year, and will be there again this year (only 1-hour away), but it was NOT PRI. At PRI I take nearly two days to get through everything. At IMIS, 3-4 hours tops, and that was including time talking to friends that had booths there.

When PRI was in Indy, it took all of the convention area, plus hallways. IMIS used 3 rooms (about 20% or less).

Still hoping to do PRI as well, but don't have anyone to share expenses with this year, so I may not make it.

Scott

Have never gone before, but have been thinking about going.I know I won't be going to the PRI,so I figured this would be as close as I can get.
I was going to look it up and see if I could find a list of who will have booths there,if anyone has a link.

Here is a link.http://m.marketart.com/imis10/companies

A lot vendors pre registered. The IMIS web site said all the spaces are sold out.
It looks like it'll be worth the trip to Indy.

Considering it's only the second year and between SEMA and PRI I'm impressed with the list of vendors.

December 1-3. Last year was kinda small but this year over twice as many vendors. Get on the IMIS site and you can get a list of vendors as well as the floor plan. No problem in getting to everything in one day.

The IMIS show appears to have about 300 exhibitors and is currently "full".

There are over 1000 exhibitors for the PRI show.

In all fairness PRI has about 300 vendors that are absolutely worthless.

If IMIS has 300 that are great it would be great.

But, I appreciate the honesty. I still would like to see it. I just like Indy. There's also some stones unturned out there. Ryan could probalby know what I am talking about there.

Don, nope. This is not the same type of show as Pheasant run or Drag expo. It is a trade show - Industry trades poeple only. Wholesalers and manufacturers showing there wares to retailers and install shops. Technically, it is NOT open to the general public. registration and proof of industry trade affiliation is required for access. However, it doesn't take much for most avid car guys to find some type of credential to get in. A copy of a current business license, along with a business card or recent pay stub from a shop are generally considered "proper" identification.

Scott

Leon, I was not trying to comment on the quality of the exhibition booths at either show, only the quantity of vendors to see, While the IMIS show is growing, it is still not PRI. I will definitely will be at IMIS (especially the pre-party Wednesday with beer!), and I hope to be at PRI as well.
