Two questions. I purchased a set of reconditioned rods for a 1974 360. I noticed that the piston end had a bushing so I assumed they were from a 340. The 360 uses a pressed pin so if the bushings were pressed out will the pins from the 360 fit the rods? My second question is since this engine is externally balanced and I wanted to have the rotating assembly re-balanced. Do I need to bring the harmonic balancer and the converter in with the crank, rods & pistons to have this done? Thanks, Gerry.

I have had some 360 rods bushed and the rod end was opened up for the bushings. For the balance job, balancer, crank, pistons, rods and flexplate. You then run a neutral balanced converter.

(1) no as they bore the pin ID out then press in the bushing as all SB pin dia's are the same and they are only changing the contact from steel to steel to bronze to steel. If re externally balancing yes plus the flex plate.

Also if they are floating pins you need to make sure you have grooves for snap rings in the pistons or else the pin will slide out and trash the bores very fast.
