Hi!

When you restore an engine and want to retain the factory look....what do you do about the damper?

I am afraid of using an old damper on a brand new engine build.

Specifically I want to do with my 69 HEMI engine rebuild and my 71 440-6 rebuild, both of which are numbers matching engines.

I dont trust the old original dampers even if the "look good".

Does somebody offer a "damper rebuild service"?

And if so, how good a work do they do?

Also, is anybody reproducing the HEMI and 440-6 dampers? And if so, are they good quality?

I was about to just forget about the dampers and put a couple GOOD dampers on those engines like ATIs and just paint em over. I know that originality on these cars is the ticket, but in occasions like this I think Im gonna say "screw that"!!!

Also make note that they have the ability to rebuild motor mounts.
They can also customice the restoration by incorporating interlocking tabs to limit torque flex.
Nice feature for stock appearing hp applications.

I had them do a balancer awhile back.

They've been doing it a long time & seemed to know what they're doing.

John, they are nice pieces using the right materials.
You provide the core and in a couple weeks part comes back ready to use.
