Hughes doesn't really offer an OEM replacement cam, but IMO this would be it. If anyone is looking for a modern version of the OEM 383-440 HP / 6BBL cam grind, Hughes has something in their Clearance section that would fit the bill: 215/223 @ .050", .470"/.506", 115 LSA, 3-bolt, $125 (Clearance price)

Compared to the OEM cam's 214/226 @ .050", .450"/.458", 115 LSA, it'll probably idle the same and pick up the torque across the curve. I wouldn't expect it to change the working RPM range much, though.

If I still had my A12 RR, I'd grab this myself. Since I don't, I figured the next best thing is to give somebody else a "heads up" about it.

470./506 ??? that's quite the lift on the exhaust, assume that would be a good cam for exh manifolds ?

Yep, that's part of why I think it would be a good choice.

The OEM ramps are also reeeealy slow and the Hughes grind "should" increase the cranking pressure a tad installed on the same ICL as stock.

Yeah, I was locked up in the Insane Asylum for having been crazy not to realize I'd run my Challenger's engine low on oil due to an undetected leak from the pan.

So... it's back apart (AGAIN) waiting for the time to reassemble it now that the machine work to the block & heads has been completed.

(right type of car, wrong color)

That's the cam I stuck in my mostly stock '70 6bbl car. Idles smooth at 800 rpm, 16" vacuum. I run lower compression than stock but it has headers. Ran 13.1 @ 107 weighing 4160 with me in it, 3:23's, auto & full exhaust.

Great bottom & mid-range but I'd like to know how one works in a motor w/more compression than my 8.6 motor.

If you still have those Comp 911 springs, then you're half way there. The cam that I remember you running in the RR was too freakin' big for exhaust manifolds anyway, IMO.
