Hi guys, Are there any red top battery moulded 'covers' avail for perf Mopars. Eg to cover the top of an existing battery to give the resto look?
cheers Dave

It's been posted here before that the covers are a lot wider than a stock battery. Your stock battery hold down brackets will NOT fit over the cover.
NOT without a little tweaking but it CAN be made to fit. You will need to straighten the top rod a little that "Z"'s across the cover (topper) and then tweak the side clamps just a little and it will work fine. I had problems finding a group 24 battery that was fairly flat on the top (needed for the topper to fit correctly) at the big national chain auto parts stores but found one at Tractor Supply Co. Worked fine until I got a repo Mopar group 27 battery.......but then that's a nightmare story for another time.

Nice Brad
For example II...
(but as noted these are both "Z" type hold downs)

I didn't have to use any extensions on the battery posts but that's because I was able to find a battery with a flat top like this:
not like this:

Dave I guess my Tractor Supply Company lead isn't going to be of much help for you, duh for me sorry mate? But I'm sure you'll find one like the example in my previous post. MikeR

Mike, where did you find that? It almost looks like an OEM Mopar battery from the same manufacture.

which are too wide for many factory hold downs

Battery Topper
ALL three of the Mopar toppers that are listed there are too wide for the factory hold downs. The three that are shown are the same group 24 battery topper but with different color caps. Because they have to cover and fit over a group 24 battery case (which has been the same basic dimensions for decades) the top is a little bigger than the battery. This would not be a problem if the battery was held in place by a clamp on the bottom or by individual rods that were not connected across the top. Because the top is a little wider than the battery and the top clamps are joined together by a straight or "Z" rod, therein lies the problem. BTW a group 27 size topper would be nice IMO.
