Compared to allot of cars it is rare, it's just that the car asked about first is much rarer... As an quick example 69 roadrunner hardtop with 383/Auto they built 24.351
Don't even ask about early Camaros...
CHEVROLET CAMARO PRODUCTION NUMBERS (1967-1969) YEAR----BASE-----Z28----RS-------SS-------CONV 1967--160,648----602---64,842--34,411-----25,141 1968--176,813---7,199---40,977--30,695-----20,440 1969--165,226---20,302--37,773--36,309-----15,573 TOTAL-502,687---28,103-143,592--101,415----61,154
So a real 68 Camaro Z28 is slightly rarer than a 68 Coronet R/T with the base engine & auto trans... BTW if it had a 4spd than there were only 1,983 & the only Camaro rarer than that is the 67 Z28...

While we're talking Camaros, why not compare an L78/L89 SS396? About as common as a Hemi R/T.
I just don't understand the comparison.
Otherwise, it needs to be said that the R/T's production numbers by engine are for US-spec cars only. The only way to get total production is by bodystyle.

It's hard to say because there may be more than one - that's US-spec cars only.

Two 1968 Hemi R/T Convertables sold new in Canada. Furyman has tons of information on these Convertables. I believe he still owns at least one if not two 1968 R/T convertable with a 440. There could be some sold as export cars.
