Those are the original carbs restored by Gerry Luck. One thing that I will say, is that all I did was bolt them on and have driven the crap out of the car with not one single carb issue. 44D6PAKCUDA top fuel 4 Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 2,295 Land of 10,000 Lakes	The exhaust manifolds were originally bolted on the engine assembly when painted,(reference Alan's engine pictures)so at one time they were the same color as the engine.After being driven for awhile the heat would eventually burn off most the orange paint.When I took these pictures of my engine it had only been run a few hours on the dyno.They still do have some orange paint on them just not as much now.

I'm in the process of putting together my 71 Challenger R/T 440+6 after being apart for 19 years. I've had 5 other 71 cars in the shop to reference off of and there seems to be no shortage of mid year changes.

It should be only on one VC, but it should be the carb number from the build sheet. That code is 3 digits in 1970. If it was the same for 1971 this should be 670 instead of just 70. It's basicly that last three digits of the carb list number.

I don't see anything on mine.... If there is anything on the driver's side it would be "412" which would be the "engine" code from the broadcast sheet.
