I have a nice BB cam I really like. It's in excellent shape....except a single cam lobe is worn down. Can a shop build this lobe up with weld and then grind it back into shape? And if so does anyone in northern California know a good shop for this? Thanks!

You could buy a new cam for what it would cost to fix the old one.

Thanks stumpy. I kinda thought someone would say that. I'll start looking.

I kind of thought it was a little weird. 15 prestine lobes and one wiped! Any ideas as to what to look for as the cause? Oiling? Weird lifter? Sticky valve stem? Any ideas?

How long has the cam been running in the engine? Hydraulic or solid?

In the mid 70s I was in the CG at YBI. A friend got me a reground one from CAL CAMS in the bay area. there is DELTA CAMS up here in Tacoma Wa. But as Stumpy said the cost is virtually the same...

I am truckless..

It's just the factory 440 HP hydralic cam (not sure of the specs). Nothing special, but I've had one before and it did what I wanted. So I guess it has been running for nearly 40 years.
