70mopes OP pro stock Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 1,228 Maple Valley, WA	I am in the process of rebuilding my 4615 AVS Carter for my '69, 383 4 speed roadrunner. In addition to the choke pull off, this carb also has a dashpot. It looks to be for purposes of dampening the throttle return upon de-celeration. I have seen and worked on a number of AVS's from 68-70 but have not seen one that uses a dashpot. Is this correct for my application?

ademon master A Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 6,906 IL, Aurora	yes 4-speed have them, BTW you also need the long leaver on the carb throttle shaft for it to work. To set up the dashpot adjust the idle adjust screw till your rpm is at 2K, then bring down the dashpot till it just touches the arm, then lock it down, bring idle back to normal & enjoy. 6186474-68RR3834-speed(7)(640x480).jpg (82 downloads) Last edited by ademon; 09/09/10 01:43 PM.
