Started cleaning My stainless steel Rocker moldings last nite by scrubbing with scratch pad
and rubbing compound..Under all the years of crud
and rust I was hoping for bare stainless that I could eventually polish up,but I'm finding some
sort of sprayed on coating.. Somebody know how
these moldings where finished originally???
Eric @ Rickety Ent.. just finished reassembly
of X after buffing fresh paint, blue stripes next

The moldings were probably anodised. In order to polish them, the anodising will have to be removed.

They should be anodized aluminum I believe. can anyone post a picture of the moldings? I have some very nice rocker moldings from various early B body cars and I thought one of the sets were from a 67 GTX. Thanks in advance. JC.
