Okay, I've always read that a motor mount is a motor mount when 318's are concerned, well tonight I found that's not true. I can't believe I didn't notice this till it was time to drop in the engine.

There is a bolt "eye" missing in the new '76 block if I'm to use my '67 mounts.

5/23/67 block - old

5/27/76 block - new

mount brackets that were holding the 5/23/67 block in my '67 Belvedere

Do I need find the brackets from a mid 70's car? I think this block originally came from a truck.

Can someone please tell me what I need to look for? What vehicle and year? I guess... or am I missing something here...

Looks like the original setup only used three bolts as well...

Yes, but on that side it used both holes. You can tell from the missing paint on that side on the 67 block.

Look at the mount bracket.. Only three holes... & even if there were a extra hole the passenger side of the engine is much lower stress than the drivers side so why have an extra bolt?

BTW the engine mount brackets are shown up side down...

Problem solved!

Once I realized which bracket goes on which side, I just put the bracket back in the old block with all three bolts, marked the 4th hole on the bracket, and drilled a new hole. There was plenty of material.

And it's all back in the car... and I have to go out of town for three days.

So you drilled an extra hole that you don't need and didn't use it anyway...It that what I am seeing/reading?

Um, no. The bracket only had a hole on the lower left, the block only had a hole on the lower right. So, I drilled a hole in the bracket on the lower right.
