Okay guys, so far these headers seem to be the most reasonably priced headers for ground clearance for a Big Block Chrysler in an A-Body. I want to know the Pros and Cons of these headers. Also, should I expect to see a loss of HP if I switch from my Hooker Super Comp fenderwell headers to the Pro Parts headers. I know that Stahl makes some really good headers, but we can't afford that( $1200 ).
Thanks in advance guys!

the only con i was going to state was having to cut your inner fenders , but since they were already HACKED for the hookers its a no brainer .

had a set on a car years ago and loved them. easy to get the starter in and out. could install headders with the motor bolted in place. #7 plug was hard to get to if i remember correctly but i drilled a hole in the fenderwell and that made it easy to get, power steering is hard to get the driver side plugs.,

You didnt say what heads you run, but I think with edelbrock heads, some additional denting/cutting may be necessary, but i have no firsthand experience with it..

Pros...
I have no problems with these headers. We've been running them since they came out.#7 plug is a bit hard, but I get it from under the car.Starter falls out on 440,have to wriggle a bit with 383.Engine can be in car,I can install these headers myself in 45 minutes-1 hour. You can run larger size front tire,I use 7.10x15 Moroso front runner with no problem.

Cons...None!! And I don't think you'll lose any power switching from the Hooker's.

I have them on 440 68 cuda, I had stage6s on it
with rasised ex ports 1/4 inch streight plug they fit well, I have Indy ezs them fit well.
The only thing I would tell you to do is lather the crap out collecters with anti-seaze.They will be easer to remove.

I need to ask....have you considered TTI headers for your A body?

My buddy and I just took a set of "brand unknown" off his 440 Duster. These had to be the worst fit in a header I have seen in a long time. We had clearance issues everywhere....steering box, steering shaft, bellhousing...plugs were a nightmare.

The TTI's were pricey, but, the fit is incredible. They solved every one of our issues. Here's some comparisons...]

Old headers....45 minutes to remove header bolts and almost as long to crawl around the engine to get the plugs.

TTI's.....6 minutes to thread the bolts in, another 5 to torque 'em. Less than 20 minutes to do plugs.

The only bolts that we found "hard to get" were the top collector flange bolt when we installed the mufflers. There isn't much swingin' room there.

No I don't work for TTI....lol....just like to spread the word when I find a product that actually works.
