I am reading on another board that Stephen Herbert's SS/AH Cuda at Indy has a Reher-Morrison prepped Hemi?
That's a first, if true.

That would be interesting for sure... I called them in May and asked them to build my 520" RB, and they informed me that they do not work on Chrysler engines. Maybe they have changed their minds since??

When I went through there engine school a couple of years back they had several sets of Kaase Hemi heads doing R&D work on them.

I talked to him at the last race in Ennis. He wanted someone closer to refresh the engine(s). I was told that WC got pissed and won't deal with him anymore. I can imagine that he didn't want someone else poking around to see what they were doing. Years ago I talked to Darin about some Hemi heads. He seemed interested at the time but my budget didn't go with an R&D budget. There was a dragster with RM BBC power pitted next to Hebert and David was sitting there chatting with those guys.

I'm not totally surprised, if Darin is involved. He is one of the sharpest guys out there regarding cylinder heads, and he told me years back that he loved the SS Hemi cars and he would like to get his fingers in one at some point. So, it is starting to make some sense.

I see that Larry Perkins is running well...an 8.53, with, of all people, Grumpy Jenkins prepped Hemi.
What a lot of folks don't know that Jenkins was a pretty successful racer in 64 and 65 A990 Hemi b-bodies back in the day...even after he went to Chevrolet there was still a significant number of Jenkins' Competition prepped MoPars on the east coast.

Steve, I'm not sure if Darin is involved with Hebert's deal or not. I talked to Darin about eight years ago when he was at R&M and he showed interest then. I thought Darin went out on his own since then, but I'm not sure.

Darin I believe went to work for Profiler, don't know if he is still there. Guy named Brad is doing cylinder head work now.

When I visited R&M a few years ago to pick up some components on my way through town they had a Milodon Hemi in an engine room they were working on fora customer. Was actually a great trip. They gave us a tour of the place to include watching them running some engines on the dyno. For a mexican pro stock class back then, 468 cubes with iron heads and they were making some serious HP with them.

Thank you for your interest.

Yes it is R&M SN #1, David is a friend of mine and wants to help.

Yes Brad and Darin are involved.

Yes it is fast and getting faster. This was only Phase one.

BUT as you can see, others get faster as well.\
Stephen

For those who don't know, Brad and Darren are brothers. They both worked on the Pro-stock program at RM. When that program was halted, Darren went to Profiler, but Brad is still at RM and lately has been on the 5.2 and 5.3 bore space, Pro-Mod engine program.

Darin Morgan is finishing the first ever R&M SS/AH heads on his new Rottler P69 5 axis mill. He and Brad have things looking good on our program. Only time (and some $$change)will tell....

All I saw was 8600 on that pull. If you guys can make that kinda steam at 8600 that is impressive. I suspect however that was not the ultimate HP pull

BTW Stephen thanks again for the cigars. They went really well with a 20 year old bottle of scotch a customer gave me. Had the last one at our victory celebration after we won Hot Street earlier this year with the little tire car.

Steve, 2nd year for Spyfish and R&M together. Not a big secret. Mr. Hebert wearing the R&M t shirt Indy last year got a lot of looks.

Frito, you might note that this thread is almost two years old when Steve started it in 2010. It was pretty new then. It came back to life when Spyphish brought it back with the dyno run. I'd like to see a full pull to 9600 RPM or whatever the peak RPM is?
